Resolved Question: Have you practiced the TM method? Is it a cult?
A few years back I wanted to get into TM...there was a free workshop but to take the actual course and learn the technique it's like over a thousand dollars. I was quite taken aback as I thought this was a method of meditation that was taught for religious purposes (to enlighten and better the planet, as they claim their goals to be). I asked about price reductions and they had limited exceptions (like if you are take a vow of poverty or something), then they mentioned how it worked for all these different celebrities.
Is this a cult? How could the Beatles have gotten involved in this? How can you justify charging someone for something you say will better their lives? If you really know of such a method and use it for financial gain, is this morally wrong?
