Open Question: Is it possible to do a parachute and be psychologically relaxed?

I'm wondering is it humanly possible to jump out of a plane with a parachute (or do any other extreme activity which your mind determines as unnatural) but be totally relaxed mentally and emotionally? Sort of like relaxed as if you were lying in bed or sitting watching your favourite TV show? Maybe not that relaxed but you know what I mean.

I'm guessing it would take a whole lot of "being at peace with yourself" sort of like the Monks (or how I perceive them to be).

Suppose you went to meditation classes with Monks and trained to control your mind and completely accept your (dangerous) environment through meditation or similar methods and accept the risk of danger but still be at peace within yourself and be completely calm.

Would the natural survival mode always dominate you and make you afraid or is it possible to train yourself to not feel danger or fear but yet understand you are at potential risk?
