Open Question: Anxiety worries and Fears....?

Hi im 18 male and I have Generelized Anxiety Disorder.I get tons of different fears and i worry a lot.Mostly my mind is always occupied with useless junk. There was a time where i was having repeated panic attacks over and over that put me into a state of depression.I was sent to a program where they taught me DBT therapy and techniques to first tackle my stress level and lower it.Then CBT therapy to fix my thinking process. It helped a lot.I practiced mindfulness meditation and while i was practicing it i did not see results fast but i started to see them a month later. My mind was quiet and more at bay,no more panic attacks less thoughts less fear.I stopped cause i thought i was cured,i was going back to school and back being social and not afraid of people.Once i stopped it slowly came back. But up untill now iam using CBT to treat it.Its working good but not so good.

Right now i got a fear that i have OCD.When i was little i had OCD i constantly washed my hands i dont really know why but i did.But i stopped at an early age too.So i dont do this no more.I did have scary irrational thoughts that were obssessive. But again through mindfulness i learnt to not fix or alter them anything but by using the breath to accept them.

I was just confused on one thing.a person told me once "if you know your thoughts, and you know your reaction and response, you simply beat your disorder, meaning you dont have it no more" can this be true?

Right now actually i encourage my friends and family to be positive and to accept things not overreact to them. While practicing happiness, love and kindness towards myself and the world grew and that was the antidote to anxiety,it had no chance when anxiety was there it was nailed in the head by happiness. Now im going to practice once more but buying a biofeedback device called emwave2 to help me out cause im a little far behind.

I was wondering,do other people with anxiety disorders also achieve these results from meditating?
cause i gotta tell yah i was an anxiety mess, was on so many different medication, but nothing came close to DBT,CBT therapy and just practicing meditation and relaxation non stop.

kay thanks for reading.
